EDVARD MUNCH
(1863-1944)
Born in Adalsbruk, Norway.
He is the most famous Nowergian painter and printmaker; everybody knows "The Scream". Only a few knows that he created not only one but four versions of that painting, two pastels and two paintings.
He was a real modernist painter who got the influence of Symbolism and German Expressionism while living in Oslo, Paris and Berlin.
About his "The Scream" Munch said: "I was walking down the road with two friends when the sun set, suddenly, the sky turned as read as blood. I stopped and leaned against the fence, feeling unspeakably tired. Tongues of fire and blood streched over the bluish black fjord. My friends went on walking, while I lagged behind, shivering with fear. Then I heard the enormous, infinite scream of nature."
His legacy is enormous. More than 1.000 paintings and almost 5.000 drawings. Most of these works are represented in numerous museums and art galleries in Norway and abroad.

COSTA DVOREZKY
This Canadian expressionist artist was born in 1968 in Russia.
He studied in the Academy of Arts in Moscow and a little later decided to travel and the option was Canada. His  home until now.
His figuratif  expressionist  paintings, plenty of symbolism and color, show his perfect style and creativity. He is quite minimal with his brush strokes, wonderful shapes, light and, of course, the human body, everything under a special aestetic and technique.

FRANCIS PICABIA
1879-1953
He was born in Paris, France, his mother being French and his father Cuban.
He began painting very young, aged 16, working at the Cormon's studio.
In 1912 he went to the United States were he spent a few years working on several art reviews in collaboration with Marcel Duchamp.
Only in 1918, back to Europe, he got the first contact with the Dadaism.
Picabia, both painter and poet, was a great Epicurean and after experimenting Pointilism and Impressionism adopted Cubism as an art expression.
Picabia owes his place to the virtuality and restless curiosity with which he threw himself into Cubism, Dadaism and Surrealism.
In fact, he was one of the main artists of the Dada movement.

BELMIRO BARBOSA DE ALMEIDA
(1885-1935)
Nasceu no Serro, Minas Gerais, Brasil.

CORNEILLE
(Cornelis van Beverloo)
(1922-2010)
He was born in Liège, Belgium and moved to The Netherlands with his Dutch family at the age of 12 .
There he studied drawing at the Academy of Art in Amsterdam. As a painter he was a self-taught abstract expressionist. Also a printmaker and ceramist.
Later moved to Paris living there until his dead.
I met him a couple of times and I may say that he was an optimist for life. A very kind person, a poet as a painter.
We easily can see that optimism, that joy in his lyrical paintings.
In the early works he had certain affinities with Miró and Klee, but his later works show a departure from this style to, what I may consider, the result of the influence in African Art.
In a single work he comprises, with vibrant colors, birds, cats, plants, exotic symbols  and,  of course, women. And for Corneille the woman's body is a source of mistery and desire.
He co-founded with Karel Appel and Constant the experimental Reflex group and later, in 1948, the group CoBrA, one of the most significant post-war art movements of the 20th century.
