GÉZA FARAGÓ
(1877-1928)
Born in Budapest, Hungary.
He was a painter, illustrator, cartoonist, theatrical costume designer and poster artist.
He worked as a theather designer in the Budapest Operetta Theatre during several years before going to live in Paris.
There he studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs but, to afford that, he had to work in a textile factory.
After the french experience of five years he returned to Budapest and, during the war, he worked designing propaganda posters.
His style is close to Mucha's using strong decorative contour lines and colored patches. But he was also influenced by the French Nabis style of painting.
He is one of the greatest master of the Hungarian poster art.

LIU BAOJUN
Born 1963 in Dan Dong, Liaaoning, China.
Now he lives and works in Shangai.
His work is a roaming between realism and modernism and plays with the stereotypes being really provocative with his fat sensual women, sometimes nude, most of the times smoking. 
Baojun is one of the most representative painters in China.

EDUARDO GAGEIRO
Born in 1935 in Sacavém, Portugal.
His first photo published in a Portuguese newspaper happened when he was 12 years old.
Very young he began working in an office but in 1952 he left that job to become a photographer in the main news papers and magazines at the time.
He is a photographer in the style of Cartier-Bresson and Doisneau. He captures life, people, moments, and some of those works are included in the document history of Portugal.
Gageiro knows the right moment and technically his black and white pictures are perfect.
He also produced several photobooks, some of them with the collaboration of famous Portuguese writers as David Mourão Ferreira and António Lobo Antunes. And also for the Deustche Gramophone, Yamaha and Cartier.
Awarded all over the world, in 2005 he got the 1st prize at the 11th International Photography in China, the world's biggest photography competion.
And now, this 81 years old photographer still woks as a freelancer and continue giving us sublime pictures.

LISA HOLDEN
Born in 1961 in London, United Kingdom.
She began as a painter before going to experiment in performance, audio, sculpture and video. Later, with photography and now she creates what we can consider the new art.
During the last years this artist and writer is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where she creates her artworks, the digital manipulation of the combinations of painting, drawing, photography and video.
Lisa works are full of imagery and fantasy combined with art historical precedents. In her latest series she explores the lyrical world of the opera.
She is represented in a few museums, also in some corporate collections and has held several exhibitions with a great sucess.

JOANA VASCONCELOS
Nasceu em 1971 em Paris.
Sou amiga dos seus Pais desde a minha juventude e, quando fui a Paris em Julho de 1971, aproveitei para os visitar. Durante um almoço, deram-me a boa notícia de que a Teresa estava grávida. A minha amiga estava a gerar um grande talento, a Joana Vasconcelos. 
Já participou em grandes exposições internacionais tais como a Biennale di Venezia em 2005 e 2013, a individual no Château de Versailles, e a sua primeira retrospectiva no Museu Berardo em 2010.
Também participou em inúmeras exposições desde o Porto, S.Paulo, Barcelona, Reino Unido, Dinamarca entre muitos outros, e está representada em diversas colecções públicas desde Seul a Washington.
A Joana Vasconcelos merece pelo seu talento e criatividade  ser considerada uma das artistas mais marcantes desta última década.

SUZANNE VALODON
(1875- 1938)
She was born in Bessines, France
Growinp up in poverty, and without knowing his father, when she was 5 years old she moved to Paris with her mother.
They lived in Montmartre, a bohemian quartier and, very young, she had to accept small jobs to survive. She had the chance to meet and become friend of some artists who helped her. And soon she was an artist's model of some of the best painters, such as Renoir and Toulouse Lautrec.
A model under the name of Maria with a bohemian life in clubs and cabarets and mother of an illegitimate son (the artist Maurice Utrillo).
Posing for the artists she became lover of some of them, Degas discovered her interest in drawing, encouraged her to continue and became her  mentor.
Soon she was a successful artist and being able to support herself with her artwork.
After two marriages and two divorces she died in 1938 leaving around 300 drawings and 500 oil paintings.

A BISCA LAMBIDA  
O jogo de Cartas - Playing cards
Parece que o jogo de cartas nasceu com a humanidade mas, na realidade, surgiu na China no Séc. X A.C.
Nessa época os baralhos eram feitos de osso ou marfim e só com a invenção do papel, no Séc.XII, foram criadas as cartas em papel duro.
Mais tarde os franceses ditaram o que se transformou na referencia mundial - os quatro naipes (espadas, copas, ouros e paus).
E ao longo dos  séculos muita jogada foi feita, muita batota. E toda essa  batota tem inspirado muitos artistas que criaram algumas das obras que aqui deixo.
