FRANÇOIS DESNOYER
30 Septembre 1894, Montauban - 21 Juillet 1972, Saint Cyprien, France
Il commence sa jeunesse quand la I Guerre éclate. Envoyé au front il est blessé seurieusement. Alors commence à dessiner pour passer son temps de recupération.
À Paris, en 1921, Desnoyer entre à l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.
En 1952 il participe à la Biennale de Venise avec Fernand Léger et Raoul Dufy.
La Fondation Desnoyer acueille des artistes en résidence et des expositions d'art contemporain.

ALAN DAVIE
28 September 1920, Grangemouth - 5 April 2011, Hertfordshire, Scottland, UK
Studied at Edinburgh College of Art and became a painter and musicien.
Played tenor saxophone in one Orchestra based in Edinburgh with lots of tours around Europe. He also played piano, cello and clarinet.
As a painter he got influence from Klee, Pollock and Miró.

27 Setembro 1849, Waregem - 14 Junho 1924, Astene, Bélgica
Estudou na Academia de Belas Artes de Antuérpia enquanto trabalhador para poder pagar os seus estudos.
Foi um pintor impressionista que desenvolveu o chamado estilo luminista. Chegou mesmo a criar o grupo artístico Vie et Lumière.
Viveu em Londres durante a I Guerra e, quando regressou à Bélgica, organizou  uma exposição com trabalhos seus  que foi um êxito.

FRIEDRICH SEIDENSTUCKER
26 Setembro 1882, Unna - 26 Dezembro 1966, Berlim, Alemanha
Desde miúdo ganhou interesse pela fotografia. Com apenas 17 anos construiu uma máquina a partir de uma caixa de charutos e uma lente de uma lanterna mágica.
A sua primeira grande série de fotografias foi criada no jardim zoológico de Berlim e aí já mostra um pouco do seu  sentido de humor e de observação.
Estudou engenharia em Hagen e Berlim e mais tarde escultura na Faculdade de Artes de Berlim. Mas continuou a trabalhar como fotógrafo contratado pela Berliner Illustrirte.
Ficou famoso pelas imagens da vida quotidiana em Berlim e também pelas suas saltadoras de poças.

Designer, teacher, author and embroiderer.
She studied at the Glasgow School of Art where she became teatcher.
Also militant for the women's suffrage in the United Kingdom.
In the Kelvingrove Museum is possible to see a range of her work, both in embroidery and in ceramics.

Plus de 30.000 negative photos ont été découvertes par sa fille dans le grenier familial, quelques années après sa morte.
Des photographies en noir et blanc qui apportent un témoignage saisissant sur la vie quotidienne en ex-Union Soviétique.
Masha est née d'une famille aristocratique qui a eu la chance de pouvoir faire des photos tous les jours malgré son job dans le monde artistique et la critique théatrale.

FRANTISEK KUPKA
23 September 1871, Opocno, Czech Republic - 24 June 1957, Puteaux, France
Studied at the Art Academies of Prague and Vienna.
He was interested in philosophy and sometimes took part as medium in spiritualist séances.
Made several journeys to Germany, Sweden, Norway and England but decided to settle in Paris working as a painter and illustrator.
In 1946 a big retrospective exhibition of his work was held in Prague where a Kupka museum was founded.
