DAVID HOCKNEY
Born in 9 July 1937 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Happy Birthday!
He is a painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer.
Studied at the Bradford School of Art and then at the Royal College of Art.
In the 80s he produced photo collages, he calls "joiners", with Polaroid prints. And also designs sets and costumes for Operas and Ballets.
It was during his staying in California he got the inspiration to make a serie of paintings of swimming pools.
He was co-founder of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
Currently lives and works in London and Malibu (California).
He is considered an icon by the British culture, for sure one of the most influential artist of the XX Century.
