ARMANDO REVERÓN
1889-1954
Born in Caracas, Venezuela.
As a very young boy he studied natural drawing with his uncle and there began his art passion.
After that, he studied at the Academia de Bellas Artes in Caracas, and at the Escuela de Artes y Ofícios in Barcelona.
He was a painter of portraits, religious themes, landscapes and nudes under the great influence in Goya and Velazquez.
Reverón had three periodes in his creations - blue, white and sepia.
He left civilization and went to live in Macuto, with Juanita, pets, cats, a parrot and two monkeys.
There he became much more expressionist refuged in a strange universe surrounded by objects and the dolls he created.
