ZYGMUNT MAZUR
(1922-2001)
This Lebanon, Poland and Canada citizen was born in Wodzino, Poland.
In 1940, with his family, they were taken to Siberia. Two years later he was called to join the Polish army in the Middle East.
In 1947 had a number of works in the exhibition L'Exposition des Jeunes Peintres Polonais au Lebanon.
Living and working in Beirute, in 1949 he emmigrated with his wife to Canada where he lived and worked until his death.
In his artistic life he explored and produced art pieces in various media from printmaking to sculpture, tapestry and painting.
He was exposed and influenced by art movements such as Fauvism, Expressionism, Symbolism, Cubism and Surrealism easy to understand in his figurative paintings.
