OSMAN AHAMED
Born 1962 in Sulaimaniya, Iraq.
Graduated from the Institute of Art in Sulaimaniya, in 1985.
MA in drawing from Camberwell Scholl of Arts, London, in 2007.
His art thematised both the complexity and tragedy of the Kurdish genocide and we must consider him the artist and the witness to that, documenting and memoralising the horrors and the suffering of his people.
His works are sometimes compared to Goya's  but friends describe him as a Kurdish Toulouse -Lautrec because of his small stature and, mostly for his observational style.
He is also researcher at the Kurdology Centre for Kurdish Studies at the University of Sulaimaniya. And has given lectures, and a guest speaker on many panels.
Exhibited his works of art in the Middle East and Europe, including  Tate Britain in London.
