CHARLES RENNIE MACKINTOSH
7 June 1868, Glasgow - 10 December 1928, London, UK
Architect and designer.
Produced several projects for buildings and also series of rather unconvencional porters.
A combination of human and organic forms would certainly have attracted the attention of the Glasgow public.
Later, the interplay of exagerated human and plant-like forms preocupied him.
Working in two dimensions, he used blocks of colour and dense linear patterns to enhance the ambiguity.
Ended his career as a watercolourist painting flowers and landscapes.
