She was one of the earliest modern dancer and also a pioneer on stage lighting techniques.
She began her career at 4 in Chicago.
After performing on Brodway she went to Paris in 1892 dancing at the Folies Bergère.
A strong image in the art nouveau periode.
Serpentine dance, The Butterfly and Fire dance were the inspiration for future generations.
