Artist painter Jewish, Belarusian, Russian and French arrived in Paris when he was 19 years old.
Studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris, and Vilnius Academy in Lithuania.
Strongly influenced by Rembrandt, Goya, Matisse, Cezanne, Chagall and Bacon. Also got influences on abstract expressionism and neo-expressionism.
Soutine is considered one of the most representative of the School of Paris.
