CHIM DAVID SEYMOUR
1911-1956
Born on the 20th November, in Warsaw, Poland.
His birth name is David Szmin, later called David Seymour, and profissionally known as Chim.
In 1914 emmigrated with his parents to Odessa and, after the War, they returned to Warsaw.
He studied Graphic Arts in Leipzig.
Only a few years later he went to Paris to study at the Sorbonne.
Chim covered the Spanish Civil War working as a freelance journalist.
He is one of the great photojournalists of the first half of the XX Century and also the pioneer of the political photojournalism.
