KUPKA
1871-1957
Born in Opocno, Austria-Hungary, now Czech Republic. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, also at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He served in the First World War.
After, he went to Paris where he worked as an illustrator of books, posters and also in some newspapers and magazines.
In 1931 he was a founding member of Abstraction-Creation.
He exhibited regularly in Paris, New York and Prague with a great sucess.
