ANDRÉ BRASILIER
Born 1929 in Saumur, Anjou, France into an artistic family (his parents were both painters).
He attended the Les Écoles des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1949 and since then he is renown for his works with horses and female figures in a blend of abstraction expressionism.
But in 1959, because he is so found of music, he began painting several works he called "Au tour de la musique". And he still continues to work with that theme.
He really has a special technique, his oil paintings seem watercolour or gouache works.
In 2005 the Hermitage Museum, in Saint Petersburg, held a large retrospective exhibition of his work from 1950 to 2004.
Once he said "I am absolutely not a realist painter. I only like when things are suggested and even when they appear mysterious".
