NEO RAUCH
Born 1960 in Leipzig, Germany.
His parents died in a train accident when he was 4 weeks old and grew up with his grandparents.
Studied painting at the Hoschschule fur Grafik und Bachkunst in Leipzig where, in 2005, began working as a professor.
His paintings evoke the Old Masters as well as surrealist artists such as Chirico and Magritte.
Works inspired by the memory of his youth in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
He is considered to be part of the New Leipzig School, with works in a style related to the Social Realism of communism.
Several solo exhibitions from Canada and USA to Poland and most of his works are held in private and public collections of  great museums all over the world.
