MICKALENE THOMAS

Was born in the 28 January 1971 in Camden, Jersey.

Studied Art at the Pratt Institut and at Yale.

The painter Manet and the photographer Malick Sidibé are the great influence she got for her colored work, painting, collage photograph in a kitsch art.

She is an African American artist awarded multiple prizes and grants.
