GREGORY CREWDSON
Born 1962 in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
His first experience of photography happened when he was ten and saw Diane Arbus at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
He received a BA from the State University of NY-Purchase College where he studied photography, and graduated with a MFA in photography at the Yale University in 1988.
He had solo exhibitions since 1992 in Houston, Madrid, Hannover, New York among others.
This renowned artist creates large-scale photographs of small-town life, people lost in tought, isolated, but surround by a lot of details. Each frame is a story, strangely poetic and quietly disturbing.
"Brief encounters", directed by Ben Saphiro, is the portrait of the artist at work.
In fact, Gregory Crewdson is extremely talented.
