RICHARD SORRELL
He was born in 1948 in Essex, United Kingdom. His parents were both painters.
He studied at the Royal Academy Schools and also Walthamstow Art School and Kingston College of Art.
His first exhibition was in 1971 and after that he never stop showing his contemporary paintings with sucess.
He began painting landscapes , still life and portrait but soon left to start  with his invented figurative pictures.
He said "The pictures are inventions, or reinventions of reality, based on a lifetime of  looking, and built up from sketches, ideas, and growing out of the process of painting itself."
Between 2000-2006  he was a Governor of the Mall Galleries.
In the last years he got enthousiasm in sculpture and gardening.
