ALFRED EISENSTAEDT
(1898-1995)
Born in Richau, West Prussia, Imperial Germany at the time, and now Poland.
This Jewish German born American photographer and photojournalist began taking pictures when he was only 14.
In Germany he was soldier during the I World War and his first job was as a photographer for the Associated Press in Berlin.
With the opression of the Hitler's Nazism in Germany he was forced to emigrate in 1935. He went with his family to the United States living in New York
And precisely in New York he took his famous photography of an American sailor kissing a young woman in Times Square, in 1945.
Once he said "It's more important to click with people than to click the shutter."
