MARCEL GROMAIRE
(1892-1971), Noyelles-sur-Sambre, France
He received his baccalauréat in Law in 1909 but is career stoped quickly with the begining of the 1st war. Only after the military service he could be an artist.
In Paris, as painter, illustrator and also a film critic, this artist, associated with the Social Realism and the Expressionism, could respect what he once said: "My mission in painting is to give art a permanent and human image"
