(1887-1927)
He was born in Madrid, Spain, where he began his artistic life creating humorous illustrations to satirical magazines.
At the age of 20 he moved to Paris and there became friend of Matisse, Braque, Leger, and Picasso among others.
In Paris he lived and worked as a cubist painter, illustrator and sculptor.
He also designed ballet sets and costumes for famous Ballets Russes.
Gris had a very short life. He died in France, very young victim of a renal failure.
About him I always think if he could live longer, what else could we get more?
