JUDITH KERR
1923, Berlin, Germany - 2019, London, UK
German born British writer and illustrator.
In 1968 she published her first book "The tiger who came to tea" without a great hope. But, to her enormous surprise, it sold tremendously and she started a good carreer doing picture books for children.
Once, working at her desk, a cat sat on her lap. Is was Mog, the heroine of 17 books!
Good was to live the life as she did, with joy and energy and the odd tot of whisky, and not waste one day of it.
She had a good marriage, a nice family and could escape horrors. Her autobiography was dedicated to the one and a half million Jewish children who didn't have the same luck.
