ERNEST ARCHIBALD TAYLOR
Greenok, 1874 - 1951
He was the fifteenth of seventeen children.
After the school he trained as a draughstman. From 1893 he worked as a trainee designer during which he attended Glasgow School of Art and the furniture design classes run by the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
Between 1900 and 1906 he taught furniture design for the College's Industrial Arts Department and was as Instructor and Lecturer in Furniture at the School of Art.
After 1906 he abandoned interior design.
During the War he served with the French Red Cross.
In retirement he devoted himself to watercolour painting and exhibited regularly in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
