EMIL NOLDE
7 August 1867, Nolde, Denmark - 13 April 1956, Neukirchen, Germany
Born as Emil Hansen, later adopted the name of is natal place.
Painter and printmaker, one of the first expressionists in Germany.
From 1906 he became member of the revolutionary expressionist group Die Brucke, of Dresden.
Also supporter of the National Socialist German Worker's Party. During his life he expressed anti-semitic and negative opinions about jewish artists.
