This Japanese printmaker Finish-American descent was stationed from 1946 to 1948 on an American naval base in Japan.
When he returned to USA, studied at the Minneapolis Art School from 1950 to 1952.
Then he returned to Japan as a missionary of the Lutherian Church until 1958 when he resigned to be an artist.
In 1963 moved to Kyoto and became enthousiatic in woodblock printing and left us wonderful works.
