HUGO SCHEIBER
1873-1950
Very young (age 9), he went to live in Vienna with his father to work with him as a sign painter for the Prater Theater.
When he went back to Budapest he continue working to support his poor family and, in the evening, attended classes at the School of Design.
Began, as a painter, in a post-impressionist style but soon adopted the german expressionism.
In his first exihibition, in 1919, the Budapest Art Museum purchased two of his drawings.
Scheiber works has been shown in many important exhibitions since 1945 with a great success, in Zurich, New York, Paris, Venice and many others.
