MARIO COMENSOLI

1922-1993

Born in Lugano, Switzerland.

A young child he was raised by two sisters after his mother death.

In 1944 he went to Zurich to attend Drawing and History of Art at the Polytechnic Institute.

His first painting was bought by the Museo Civico in Lugano.

After the war he went to spend a few time in Paris where he got some influence by Picasso and Fernand Leger. Later, Miró and Giacometti became his reference.

Several exhibitions from 1953 in Zurich, Rome, Paris and Dusseldorf among others.
