JULES PASCIN
1885-1930
Born Vidin, Bulgaria, he was a Spanish Sephardic Jewish father and a Serbian Italian mother. Later became an American citizen.
He was educated in Vienna, Munich and Paris where he was called the "Prince of Montparnasse".
Struggled with depression and alcooholism he committed suicide by slitting his wrists and hanging himself in his studio in Montparnasse, in Paris. In the day of his funeral all the art galleries in Paris closed.
