KEES MAKS

1876-1967

Born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

He studied at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam.

Maks participated in the Munich Secessions for several years and also in the Salon d'Automne in Paris.

It was in Paris he gained considerable popularity because of his figurative style, the themes and strong colors in an extreme contrast of light and shade.
