GINO SEVERINI
1883-1966
Was born on the 7th April in Cortona, Italy.
He went to Rome in 1899 to attend evening classes at the Villa Medici.
Painter, sculptor and graphic he was a leading member of the Futurist movement. He divided his life between Rome and Paris since 1906.
In Paris studied the impressionists but in 1940, and during around 10 years, his style became semi-abstract.
He published an autobiography "The life of a painter".
