PHILIPPE COGNÉE
Born  exactly 60 years ago on the 22 March 1957 in Sautro, France. Happy Birthday!
Lived his childhood and teenage years in Benin before went back to France.
In Nantes studied at  École des Beaux Arts.
In 1991 he painted in a primitive expressionism. And in 2006 began his first "vues aériennes" following Google Earth.
In his paintings uses wax that is heated and crushed.
His visual sources are real images subjected to the filter of the photograph, the digital screen or the photocopy.
In the last years went bak to nature, portraits and more figurative.
