JACQUES OCHS
1883-1971, Nice, Paris.
This Jewish belgian artist moved with his family to Liège in 1893 where he studied at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts.
Then, in Paris, studied at the Académie Julian.
After the I War returned to Liège and became lecturer in painting in the same Académie where he studied.
He was also a great caricaturist publishing his works in various newspapers, including Le Figaro and the magazine Pourquoi pas?.
During the II War he was arrested and imprisoned in Breendonk Camp and then in Malines Camp.
After the war, he exhibited a lot and had the chance to receive many awards in recognition of his artistic talents.
