He is based in Beijing since young child. There he studied at the Hebei University.
His art work is completed with painting, watercolour, prints and sculpture.
He is part of the Chinese "Cynical Realism", the art development since 1989. But he decided to create his own style, his own artistic definition.
"The first step, he said, was to create a style to express my feelings, starting with something that I knew really well - myself".
That's why he became the image of his works. And always laughing.
He paints exagerated self-portrait figures in strong candy colors. But he explained that we could not consider a self-portrait in its traditional sense, but something more like a movie star acting in different roles.
"At first you think he's happy, but when you look more carefully, there is something else. A smile doesn't necessarily mean happiness; it could be something else".
And we know that. His paintings are political criticism and social commentaries.
