ViVi MAGALI
Born in 1961 in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal.
I can consider her as a street photographer. She takes pictures as an hobby with the pure creativity of someone that took these pictures free of any influence. At that time she was a very young girl who never eared about Doisneau, Bresson, Gageiro or others. It was only talent.
These photos lure us to the world of 70's and 80's in Lisbon, like a social life document of that period.
The nostalgia, dream and romance are there. Each photo tells a story calling upon our memories and experiences with a visual creativity and a certain poetry.
Cartier-Bresson said once that: " to photograph is to put on the same line of sight, the head, the eye and the heart."
And he was right. This is what happens in the photos of ViVi Magali. She is able to show us even the state of mind of that people, without any make-up or artificial scenarios.
