GERMAINE KRULL
(1897-1985)
This German, French and Dutch photographer was born in Posen-Wilda, the border between Germany and the Russian Empire.
In 1920 the famous photographer Man Ray said to her  "Both we are the greatests photographers of our time. I in the old sense, you in the modern one".
But she never received a good critical attention.
Most of her childwood was spent travelling through Europe with her parents.
Later, as adult, she continue this nomade lifestyle going to Paris, Amsterdam, Brazil, Africa, Thailand, India among others.
She worked as a freeelancer and for several magazines and in every work we can see how important she was as a photographer. She captured the elements of modern life with her unique interpretation confirming what Man Ray said.
German Krull in the last years of life converted to the Sakya School of Tibetan Budhism and, after a stroke, died in a nursing home in Witzlarin.
"Etude de Nu", 1925
"devant les grands magasins", 1929

"Gabon indegenes Assango à Lebamba", 1942
"nude dancer, Casino Monte Carlo", 1935
