ANNA MAZZOTTA
Anna was one of the youngest winners of the prestigious Jerwood Drawing Prize, and prize winner from the Society of Women Artists last year.
She is influenced by the spirit of Art Deco and playful freedom, whether that be at the theatre or the beach. Anna also has a love of cinema, especially silent movies and how exaggerated expressions are used to tell a story. These theatrical expressions and emotive titles resonate with a large collecting base worldwide.
Anna’s work has it’s own unique style: vibrant, playful and full of character – which will often make you smile and find something new each time you look.
“My painting is a way of seeing the world, thinking – feeling, showing sensations, not just the mechanics of a scene, but instead emphasising energy, life and the letting the inner emotion of the characters come forth.”
I am passionate about the beauty of caricatures, as they are a true connection with how an artist sees the world – the viewer then enters that world and then makes it their own with their own interpretation.”
Her artworks feature in many public and private collections, most notably in those of Robert & Susan Kasen Summer and the royal photographer John Hedgerow as well as being artist in resident at the famous Art Deco hotel at Saunton Sands. Her work is also hung at the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London and at the Vanbrugh's stately Kings Weston House in the UK.
